Zero Waste?

PBogolea

By now you've probably heard of a "zero waste" lifestyle and seen someone on YouTube who creates one piece of trash a week and thought yeah no. The thought of going zero waste might seem impossible and really complicated but it can actually be pretty easy. The "Zero Waste" lifestyle is a movement towards creating less waste in your daily life that has become pretty popular recently. The main idea is to swap out a single-use product for one that can be used multiple times, ultimately creating less trash. There are some pretty simple swaps that you can make right now that can positively impact the environment.

My favorite swap so far has been metal straws. These were extremely popular a couple of months ago and I decided to cave and buy a few. I have since used the straws literally everyday and would highly recommend. A new swap I have made is shampoo and conditioner bars. I found these while shopping on The Zero Waste store and was intrigued. I bought set of shampoo and conditioner bars and it has been great. The bars work just like the plastic containers I would normally use but because they come in completely recyclable packaging, the impact on the earth is much more minimal. If you are considering trying a few zero waste swaps remember that you don’t have to go all the way and instead make one to two swaps at a time. Every little bit helps so find one swap today and help make the world a better place.
