The biodiversity around us makes our environment. It consists of all living and nonliving things which affect one another directly or indirectly. Unfortunately, the environment bestowed to us is not being correctly taken care of. At this time, the environment needs us. It's a now or never situation.
One of the leading enemies of our environment is global warming. The most immediate and obvious effects of global warming is the increase in temperatures around the world. The average global temperature has increased by about 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (0.8 degrees Celsius) over the past 100 years, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The immediate and most drastic effect of increasing temperatures is melting of ice and glaciers. Arctic life gets affected which is already so close to extinction. Furthermore, floods and cyclones are given birth to which further ruin vast lands occupied by both animals and humans. The economy suffers and it at times gets really difficult to provide relief and subjugate the damage caused.
As ice melts, sea levels rise. In 2014, the World Meteorological Organization reported that
sea-level rise accelerated 0.12 inches (3 millimeters) per year on average worldwide. This is
around double the average annual rise of 0.07 in. (1.6 mm) in the 20th century. Not only increased temperatures but extreme weather conditions are vividly noticed. E.g While
experiencing some of the hottest summers on record, much of the United States has also been experiencing colder-than-normal winters.
Every effort put in counts, so do your part to help stop global warming until it's too late and
mother earth is unfixable. Stop the burning of fossil fuels, stop deforestation and start
afforestation programs, stop the use of CFCs and most importantly educate others and create awareness around this issue.
