Our modern technology is the reason for many of the world’s environmental problems. We have developed a reliance on unsustainable energy sources which pollute and destroy our habitats. However, we can also use technology to help fix some of the problems we have caused.
One example is artificial trees. In artificial trees carbon dioxide and water are used as fuel, and sunshine is used as an energy source, much like real trees. Instead of turning carbon dioxide and water into leaves and trees, it creates carbon-rich materials like alcohol. Artificial trees are a workable alternative to the problem of climate change. However, there are skeptics of this new technology. They claim that artificial trees are not part of the natural biodiversity of our planet and therefore have no place in it. After all, why have artificial trees when you can have the real thing? Artificial trees may have some benefits over regular trees, as one artificial tree may be able to produce as much oxygen as hundreds of trees. Ultimately, while artificial trees are not a replacement for real trees, they offer a solution to the impending crisis of climate change.
